Founded in 1996 by Rebecca Swift and Hannah Griffiths, The Literary Consultancy celebrates 20years of business in 2016, and is the UK’s leading manuscript assessment and editorial advice service.
It provides expert, market-aware editorial appraisals to writers at all levels and runs the unique ‘Chapter & Verse’ mentoring scheme. As one of the SI Leeds Literary Prize’s partners, The Literary Consultancy puts authors first, helping to bridge the gap between promising manuscript and publisher-worthy piece.
TLC also runs literary events at the Free Word Centre, an annual two-day ‘Writing in a Digital Age’ Conference, and a ‘Literary Adventure’ holiday overseas. TLC is also a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England, for which is operates a Free Read Scheme with fourteen regional literature development organisations for high quality, low-income writers.
