How to enter

Wondering how to enter the SI Leeds Literary Prize?

The SI Leeds Literary Prize is biennial – entries for the 2020 Prize were accepted until the end of April but have now closed, and judges are reading submitted manuscripts.

We ask entrants to submit their full manuscripts electronically through the Submittable site, together with a 500 word synopsis, and there is a £10 fee for each entry.  Submissions can be in .doc, .docx, .pdf and .rtf formats and all submissions are judged anonymously, so we ask you to leave your name off your manuscript, please.

The SI Leeds Literary Prize is open to Black and Asian women writers aged 18 or over, based in the UK and writing fiction in English.  For more information on eligibility, please check the eligibility section or read the full prize rules here.

There were a number of bursaries available for free entry to the 2020 Prize for low income writers, courtesy of previous winner Mahsuda Snaith.

If you have any further queries about the prize, please contact us.
