The 2014 SI Leeds Literary Prize was awarded to Mahsuda Snaith for The Constellation of Ravine Roy.

This has now been published by Transworld as The Things We Thought We Knew. Read an extract of Mahsuda’s winning entry here.  Watch Mahsuda speak brilliantly about the role the Prize played in her writing career – she has since gone on to support bursaries for low income writers to enter the Prize.  Thank you, Mahsuda!

Second place went to Season Butler for Hanging from the Hammer of the Bell and third place was awarded to Anita Sivakumaran for The Queen.

Kit de Waal won the SI Readers’ Choice award for Blue in Green, and a Kindle Fire donated by Bradford’s City Training Services.  Watch Kit explain the role the Prize played in her writing career, and how important prizes are to writer development.
